Avec le temps / In time
Mark Collie 2004
I can hear what you're thinkin',
All your doubts and fears,
And if you look in my eyes, in time
You'll find the reason I'm here,
And in time all things shall pass away,
In time you may come back someday,
Live once more
Or die once more,
But in time your time will be no more,
You know your days are numbered,
Count 'em one by one
Like notches in the handle of an outlaw's gun,
You can outrun the devil if you try,
But you will never outrun the hands of time,
In time there'll surely come a day,
In time all things shall pass away,
In time you may come back some say,
Live once more
Or die once more,
But in time your time will be no more,
I can hear what you're thinkin'...
Changé, les anges au paradis / I know i've been changed
Traditionnel, texte et musique Chris Rodrigues 2017
I know, I know I've been changed,
I know I've been changed, oh
I know, I know I've been changed,
The angels in heaven done signed my name. §x2
The angels in heaven done signed my name.
One day one day I was walking along,
The angels in heaven done signed my name.
I heard a voice I didn't see no one,
the angels in Heaven done signed my name,
The voice to me you know it sounded so sweet,
the angels in heaven done signed my name,
It sounded like Jesus talking to me,
the angels in heaven done signed my name.
I know, I know I've been changed,
I know I've been changed, oh
I know, I knowI've been changed,
The angels in heaven done signed my name.
The angels in heaven done signed my name.
Death letter blues
Son House, The Original Delta Blues 1965
I got a letter this mornin, how do you reckon it read,
It said, Hurry, hurry, yeah, your love is dead,
I got a letter this mornin, I say how do you reckon it read,
You know, it said, Hurry, hurry, how come the gal you love is dead,
So, I grabbed up my suitcase, and took off down the road,
When I got there she was layin on a coolin board,
I grabbed up my suitcase, and I said and I took off down the road,
I said, but when I got there she was already layin on a coolin board,
Well, I walked up right close, looked down in her face,
Said, the good ole gal got to lay here til the Judgment Day,
I walked up right close, and I said I looked down in her face,
I said the good ole gal, she got to lay here til the Judgment Day,
Looked like there was 10,000 people standin round the buryin ground,
I didn't know I loved her til they laid her down,
Looked like 10,000 were standin round the buryin ground,
I didn't know I loved her til they damn laid her down,
Well, I folded up my arms and I slowly walked away
I said, Farewell honey, I'll see you on Judgment Day.
Ah, yeah, oh, yes, I slowly walked away
I said, Farewell, farewell, I'll see you on the Judgment Day.
Heart of gold / Un coeur d'or
Neil Young 1972
I wana live, I wana give,
I’ve been a miner for a heart of gold.
It’s these expressions I never give,
That keep me searching for a heart of gold,
And I’m getting old,
Keeps me searching for a heart of gold,
And I’m getting old,
I’ve been to Hollywood, I’ve been to Redwood,
I crossed the ocean for a heart of gold,
I’ve been in my mind, it’s such a fine line,
That keeps me searching for a heart of gold,
And I’m getting old,
Keeps me searc hing for a heart of gold,
And I’m getting old,
Keep me searching for a heart of gold,
You keep me searching for a heart of gold,
Keep me searching for a heart of gold,
Keep me searching and I’m getting old.
Honky Tonk Women
Jagger/Richards 1969
I met a gin-soaked bar-room queen in Memphis,
She tried to take me upstairs for a ride,
She had to heave me right across her shoulder,
′Cause I just can't seem to drink you off my mind,
It′s the honky tonk women,
Gimme, gimme, gimme the honky tonk blues,
I laid a divorcée in New York City,
I had to put up some kind of a fight,
The lady, then she covered me with roses,
She blew my nose and then she blew my mind,
It′s the honky tonk women,
Gimme, gimme, gimme the honky tonk blues.
Hurt
Johnny Cash 2002, paroles et musique Trent Reznor 1995
I hurt myself today
To see if I still feel,
I focus on the pain,
The only thing that's real,
The needle tears a hold,
The old familiar sting
Try to kill it all away
But I remember everything,
What have I become
My sweetest friend,
Everyone I know goes away
In the end,
And you could have it all
My empire of dirt,
I will let you down,
I will make you hurt,
I wear this crown of thorns
Upon my liar's chair,
Full of broken thoughts
I cannot repair,
Beneath the stains of time
The feelings disappear,
You are someone else
I am still right here,
If I could start again
A million miles away,
I would keep myself,
I would find a way.
Hutter Jaeck flèches / Jumping Jack Flash
Jagger/Richards 1968
I was born in a cross-fire hurricane,
And I howled at my ma in the driving rain,
But its all right now, in fact, its a gas,
But its all right.
I’m jumpin jack flash, Its a gas, gas, gas,
I was raised by a toothless, bearded hag,
was schooled with a strap right across my back,
But its all right now, in fact, its a gas,
But its all right,
I’m jumpin jack flash, Its a gas, gas, gas.
Il faudra partir / You gotta move
Mississippi Fred McDowell 1964
You got to move,
You got to move,
You got to move child,
You got to move,
But when the Lord gets ready
You got to move
You may be high,
You may be low,
You may be rich, child,
You may be poor,
But when the Lord gets ready
You've got to move,
You see that woman
That walk the street,
You see the policeman
Out on his beat,
But when the Lord gets ready
You got to move,
You got to move,
You got to move,
You've got to move child,
You've got to move,
But when the Lord gets ready
You got to move.
I feel like I'm fixing' to die / Je me sens sur le point de mourir
Country Joe & The Fish 1967
Well, come on all of you, big strong men,
Uncle Sam needs your help again.
He's got himself in a terrible jam
Way down yonder in Viet Nam,
So put down your books and pick up a gun,
We're gonna have a (whole) lotta fun,
And it's one, two, three
What are we fighting for,
Don't ask me, I don't give a damn,
Next stop is Vietnam,
And it's five, six, seven
Open up the pearly gates,
Well there ain't no time to wonder why,
Whoopee, we're all gonna die,
Come on Wall Street, don't be slow,
Why man, this is war au-go-go,
There's plenty good money to be made,
By supplying the Army with the tools of it's trade,
But just hope and pray that if they drop the bomb,
They drop it on the Viet Cong,
Well, come on generals, let's move fast,
Your big chance has come at last,
Now you can go out and get those reds,
'Cause the only good commie is the one that's dead,
And you know that peace can only be won
When we've blown 'em all to kingdom come,
Come on mothers throughout the land,
pack your boys off to Viet Nam,
come on fathers don't hesitate,
send your sons off before it's too late,
and you can be the first ones on your block,
to have your boy come home in a box.
Louisiana blues
Hugh Laurie 2013
I'm goin' Louisiana baby behind the sun,
I'm goin' Louisiana baby behind the sun,
Cause I just found out that my troubles just begun,
I'm goin' New Orleans baby behind the sun,
I'm goin' New Orleans baby behind the sun,
Teach all you pretty women how to treat your men,
I'm goin' Louisiana baby behind the sun,
I'm goin' Louisiana baby behind the sun,
Cause I just found out that my troubles just begun.
Quand Jésus revient de C. / Jesus just left Chicago
ZZ Top 1973
Jesus just left Chicago,
And he's bound for New Orleans,
Well now, Jesus just left Chicago,
And he's bound for New Orleans,
Yeah, yeah,
Workin' from one end to the other and all points in between,
Took a jump through Mississippi,
Well, muddy water turned to wine,
Took a jump through Mississippi,
Muddy water turned to wine,
Yeah, yeah,
Then out to California through the forests and the pines,
Ah, take me with you Jesus,
You might not see him in person,
But he'll see you just the same,
You might not see him in person,
But he'll see you just the same,
Yeah, yeah,
You don't have to worry 'cause takin' care of business is his name.
Mais quand moi j'suis parti, tu vas jamais voir encore,
Mais quand moi j'sus parti, tu vas jamais voir encore,
Tu vas pas satisfait comme ça.
Sympathy for the Devil
The Rolling Stones 1968
Please allow me to introduce myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste,
I've been around for a long long year,
Stolen many man's soul and faith
I was around when Jesus Christ
Had his moment of doubt and pain,
Made damn sure that Pilate
Washed his hands and sealed his fate,
Pleased to meet you
hope you guess my name,
But what's puzzling you
is the nature of my game,
Stuck around St. Petersburg
When I saw it was a time for a change,
Killed the Tzar and his ministers,
Anastasia screamed in vain,
I rode a tank
held a gen'rals rank,
When the blitzkrieg raged
and the bodies stank,
I watched the glee
while your kings and queens
Fought for ten decades
for the Gods they made,
I shouted out
Who killed the Kennedy's,
When after all
it was you and me,
Let me please introduce myself,
I'm a man of wealth and taste,
And I lay traps for troubadors
Who get killed before they reach Bombay,
Just as every cop is a criminal
And all the sinners, Saints,
As heads is tails, just call me Lucifer
'cause I'm in need of some restraint,
So if you meet me, have some courtesy,
Have some sympathy and some taste,
Use all your well learned politesse
Or I'll lay your soul to waste.
Working class hero
John Lennon 1970
As soon as you're born they make you feel small,
By giving you no time instead of it all,
Till the pain is so big you feel nothing at all,
A working class hero is something to be,
A working class hero is something to be,
They hurt you at home and they hit you at school,
They hate you if you're clever and they despise a fool,
Till you're so fucking crazy you can't follow their rules,
When they've tortured and scared you for twenty odd years,
Then they expect you to pick a career,
When you can't really function you're so full of fear,
Keep you doped with religion and sex and TV,
And you think you're so clever and classless and free,
But you're still fucking peasants as far as I can see,
There's room at the top they are telling you still,
But first you must learn how to smile as you kill,
If you want to be like the folks on the hill,
A working class hero is something to be,
A working class hero is something to be,
If you want to be a hero well just follow me,
If you want to be a hero well just follow me.

https://www.moyenagepassion.com
Et voilà pourquoi je me suis épaissi à nouveau ;
Car Dieu ne fit jamais naître chose si belle que vous ;
Mais cela me donne trop d’émoi à l’idée

Invictus
William Ernest Henley, 1875
Aussi étroit soit le chemin,
Et nombreux les châtiments infâmes,
Je suis le maître de mon destin,
Je suis le capitaine de mon âme.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul.
